Artist Statement
Any time I go through newspapers, packaging materials, labels, brochures, etc., I collect shapes, colors, textures, and lines that I later use to create pages of a conceptual journal. Alphabet letters work as graphic links through colored areas of the page, or constitute the main framework of an imaginary visual writing.

This is my way to process the countless and sometimes chaotic graphic inputs I am exposed to in my everyday life. Collages allow me to sort out the images in a more meaningful structure, adding my personal interpretation to the visual aspect of reality.

Biography
Maria was born in Padova (Italy). She began to work on collages on a regular basis in 2005 when she quit her carrier in the agricultural sciences and started the transition to become a pastry chef. She moved to Bloomington (IN) in 2009.
